Today another filly will win the Kentucky Oaks horse race.
Tens of thousands, maybe a hundred thousand, fans will
watch the races today.  Even more will pour into Churchill
Downs tomorrow for the 135th running of the Kentucky Derby.

Barrels of Kentucky bourbon will be consumed this weekend
as the fans enjoy the famous mint juleps and watch the best
horses in the world– most of them thoroughbreds, born and raised,
right here in Kentucky.

They are bred to run around a dirt track.

Only one horse will win the Kentucky Derby.

All the others will lose.

It could be a photo-finish.  It often is.

The only difference might be a fraction of a second,
a win-by-a-nose.

That extra effort, that determined, focused burst of energy
the last seconds of the race can make the difference between
winning and losing.

It happened today in an earlier race.  The horse that was
trailing the field came from dead last, rounded the final
post, and pounded down the track to win by half a length.

So where are you in this race of life?

Are you winning?

Are you running in the middle of the group, or are you
leading the way?

Win, place, or show…it’s really up to you!

One reason you haven’t heard too much from me for a few
weeks is that I have been over at Twitter.com experimenting
with tweeting, checking out how it works and IF it works.

You can follow me at http://Twitter.com/johnbradshaw

I have managed to build a list of over 6,000 followers
in just four weeks time.  The big question is, “will this
effort pay off?”

It has for others so I am doing my best to learn the ropes
at Twitter.

It’s free to join if you are not yet tweeting.  Just go to
Twitter.com and sign up.  After you sign up, follow me at

One thing you will soon realize is that there are a ton
of applications available for Twitter.  It’s really neat
what you can do over there.

David Perdew, a guy I met at an Internet Success System
MasterMind Conference in Orlando, FL, two years ago has
put together a “toolbox” of Twitter apps.  He calls it
“My Twitter Toolbox”.  You can check it out here:

http://www.i-65.com/go/mytwittertoolbox/tips

I found a Twitter app in the toolbox that allows me to know
who is following me that I am not following, and who I am
following that is not following me back.

You might say who cares, but it does make a difference
in the Twitterverse.  The more you get involved with Twitter
the more it will make sense.

So come tweet with me…if you want to

There is a lot of stuff going on in the IM world.

New product launches happen almost every week it seems.

I could make some dollars promoting everything to you
that comes down the pike.  Others do that, but I just
shy away from that kind of thing if I haven’t tried
the product to know it is worth your money.

I hope you appreciate that, and I’m not shooting myself
in the foot by not promoting everyone’s latest “secret”.

Integrity does matter.  At least it does to me.

I do buy lots of stuff, but most I do not pass along to you.

You can read between the lines on that one.

Lots of things are cookin’ on top of the stove.  When things
pass the “baby bear test”, I’ll serve them up to you.

(Baby Bear Test: Not too hot, not too cold, but just right!)

Take some time to stop and smell the roses this weekend.
Flowers are blooming, leaves are greening up the trees.

Part of my weekend activities will be to work in my victory
garden.  I love getting my hands in the dirt and planting
seeds for the vegetable garden this time of year.

Nothing like a freshly sliced tomato you just picked off
the vine in your own garden.  Or fried zuchinni…yellow
squash. How about a salad fresh picked from the garden–
lettuce, carrots, radishes, cucumbers–yumm!

Guess I’m getting a little too personal here, so I’ll shut
my mouth for awhile.

I hope everything is good for you.

If I can help in any way, just holler.

Be blessed, ’til next time,

John David Bradshaw
